Role Summary

Design, develop, prototype and test innovative mechanical systems and products for defence applications. The role involves converting concepts into functional prototypes while working closely with manufacturing, quality and testing teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, BOMs and technical documentation.
  • Develop and assemble prototypes; support testing and product qualification.
  • Perform engineering calculations, design validation and root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate with vendors, manufacturing and quality for product realization.
  • Continuously improve designs for reliability, manufacturability and cost.

Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Good understanding of machine design, manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks/SolidEdge, AutoCAD and MS Office.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical ability.
  • Hands-on experience with fabrication, machining, assembly or workshop practices.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, DFMA and engineering calculations.
  • Familiarity with testing, instrumentation is an advantage.
